Children’s book illustration contest
Do you remember a picture from a children’s book? One that still trudges through the rain slicks with you today? Maybe how grandmother’s head bows, strawberry ice cream runs down her chin, how the sun dazzles, how a cow rides a bicycle rather deftly? Pictures stay. Because pictures tell stories.
We are looking for your book project to continue telling these stories. To get back pictures that stay.
This year, designaustria is awarding the Romulus Candea Prize for the 11th time – but after ten competitions, we now want to focus on something completely new. Illustrators should get in touch, learn from each other and talk to each other, meet, work on ideas and above all: network. So the eleventh call for entries for the Romulus Candea Prize 2023 is intended as a networking and training opportunity.
At the end, a big party is on our agenda to bring everyone together once again. It will mainly serve as a networking event for illustrators, publishers, agencies and a possible reading public and will take place in October 2023. It’s about the big picture of what’s been created. And there is also the chance that the publishers will select one or more projects for publication.
