How many lives can paper truly have? A poster, magazine, or newspaper can be given a second life, and taken from a collection to a collage. This 2 hour workshop will teach you to utilize color theory and the hierarchy of values, using cut paper as a medium. Once you learn my technique, you will be able to develop and reprocess existing materials like never before!
ZHARIA SHINN is an illustrator in New York City. She is a recent graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, and has already earned a Gold Medal from the Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles. In the current exhibtion GO WEST! her works of Fabric Lineage series, family portraits executed in her distinctive fabric collage technique are presented. The work is part of an ongoing exploration of the visual representation of black men and women.
